Another Reason to Dislike Cheaper Than Dirt!

I think we all have been expecting that, and yes your correct. CTD has never gotten my money, and never will. With shenanigans like this I don't trust them with my financial info.

I'm honestly not surprised. If they can sell it for that, good for them. They are in business to make money, and anyone with a lot of penetrator ammo right now stands to make it hand over fist.

If I remember correctly they pulled all ar15s off the shelf after sandy hook too. And had $1/ per 5.56

I don't have time to write a reply, but I'll repost what I said on another site.
I have to disagree. If anything, the market is kept artificially low by vendors selling at prices that reflect a low-demand environment. Just because a vendor reacts to a spike in demand by raising prices doesn't make them "scummy," it makes them able to keep an item in stock for those willing to pay the price. They are providing a service, and just because the majority of people cannot afford it or refuse to pay the price they ask they are not morally bankrupt, they are simply a providing for a market.

I just don't understand the hate they get. I would agree if they did this after lobbying to get M855 classified as armor piercing, or trying to get standard cap mags banned and then jacking up prices, but all they're doing is keeping an item in stock by raising the price.

Honestly, if someone is that in need of M855 and is willing to pay that much, whats the problem? Would they really be less "devoid of basic human ethics" if they were sold out like every other source? Is it that much more noble to have an item sell out in 5 minutes because you didn't raise prices and therefore are unable to provide to other segments of the market?

I won't buy from CTD, but that's because they are far too expensive and excessively complicated in terms of shipping. I'm not going to start casting judgment at them for asking more for an item that they can make money off of.

Oh come on- It isn't $860 for a can it is $840...
I have a can of that exact stuff I'll let go for $750:evil:

Cheaper than dirt was dead to me the day after Sandy Hook when they doubled the price of all their ammo and magazines over night.

That is their business model. CTD is simply set up that way. I don't buy from them, because despite the name, they never seem to be the lowest. I suggest the collective we just don't buy from CTD.

Good advise, but aside from that, there is no need to waste time bashing CTD again. Let's spend our time more productively getting those letters and emails sent.

They raised prices before, are doing it now, and may do so again. Act accordingly, whatever that is for you. :)
