Another squirrel hunt over dogs with pics this time

No I cook it in the crockpot until it is tender . Then I remove the rabbits from the crockpot and add the vegetables . When the rabbits cool down enough , I pull the rabbit meat off of the bone . When the vegetables are about 30 minutes from being done I add the pulled rabbit meat back to the crockpot and vegetables and start cooking my cornbread . I just finished my last bowl of stew tonight . I am looking forward to rabbit hunting again Saturday and getting a couple more it was so good .
Good luck. Took the day off tomorrow to squirrel hunt as my birthday is Saturday. Idk what your weather is gonna be like but ours is gonna suck. If I have some good luck I'm might give your recipe a try with some squirrel

Happy birthday . It is supposed to be cold (31 ) and windy here Saturday also . I might not go if the wind is blowing too hard . It’s not fun if you can’t hear the dogs , not to mention not safe . But usually we are not hunting in tall trees rabbit hunting . Squirrel would be good cooked like that also . I like squirrel slightly better than rabbit .

I cook it in 32 oz unsalted chicken broth plus 1 cup of water . To that I add :
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Really? I've never had rabbit. I only wild game I've had is deer, elk, bear and squirrel. Ate a domestic goat once too. Delicious

With rabbit the backstrap is the best IMO , but it will get dry if cooked it as long as the hind legs . Not so much cooking in a liquid . The hind legs have the most meat and are the toughest . Cooking in a liquid or pressure cooker makes them tender .
