Ill be sticking to .357 and doubt ill put any 38s through it.. Anyone have anything that worked good in theirs... Id like a minimum 150s bullet weight...
I dont cast but have access to 150sgr cast bullets

If shooting lead bullets in your Trooper I would first determine the chamber mouth diameter you may find they're greater than .358".

I have a trooper 6", but I only shoot 125gr xtp's out of it. if you want some of that info pm me

It's been a few years since I owned a Trooper Mk III, but it is a strong enough revolver to handle .357 Magnum loads from any manual or data.

For full power loads I like AA#9, but I use Win and Rem 158 Gr. JHPs because you can buy them in bulk. Accurate's data for #9 and a 150 gr. Nosler JHP starts at 13.7 grains for 1319 FPS and maxes out at 15.2 Grains for 1499 FPS in a 6" barrel. They used a WSPM primer and I use a standard CCI-500, Starline, Rem and Win brass.;)

158gr SWC commercial cast, additionally lubed with Lee Liquid Alox. 6.2grs of Unique, Winchester Primer, Remington Brass.

Speer 4217 bullets

I really like shooting Speer #4217 158-gr JSPs over 14.0 ~ 14.2 grains of 2400 and a standard small pistol primer (usually Federal 100s). This is below MAX yet still is a good magnum load.

For cold weather I keep the charge the same and switch to a magnum primer.

They shoot very well out of my 4" Model 28-2, my 4" 686 and a 6" stainless Security Six.

Thanks for the info guys...

Beja i appreciate the offer but this is also gonna be a defense round to have for bear when i am out squirrel hunting... Need something a little stout
