I am looking for a good quality open carry belt holster for IDPA, USPSA holster made of plastic. Blade Tech is among my favorite make for my Glocks but I can't find anything for my 4" 625 S&W. Just not into the leather or nylon holsters and want something more rugged. Safriland makes a thiner plastic and I have one on the way but I am not sure this is the same qulity as the Blade Tech I am use to.

So what hardware are you gamers using to secure your guns while running and gunning?

BladeTech offers a number of kydex holsters for the 625. CompTac and ReadyTac also make a good kydex holsters for the 625.

I have a BladeTech & CompTac holster and both work well. I felt the top of the BladeTech ran a bit higher than necessary and some plastic interfered with my grip, but a few minutes with a dremel cutting wheel, and it was perfect.

I don't own a ReadyTac holster, but would buy one if I were in the market, as their products in general get great reviews. I have speedloader and mag holders from ReadyTac and like them a bunch.

I never got around to the switch to plastic/kydex for my wheelgun, always using a leather "tunnel" or Bruce Nelson style holster from Rays.

...well, that's not completely true. I do use a kydex IWB rig from Hoffner's, but most folks don't want an N-frame for "deep" concealment.

I'm using Fobus kydex paddle type holsters for IDPA right now, and haven't had any problems with them. They're fairly inexpensive, and hold my pistols securely without the need for a retention strap.
