So I just wanted to share my thoughts and insight on this gun and ammo combo with my fellow DC members.,and also to get your thoughts on this as well.

So for starters I bought a used like new Glock 39 this week, and I have to say I'm really impressed with and loving this gun. I'm a big fan of the 45 ACP and the 1911 from way back. But I'm also a long time Glock fan as well.

I've previously owned Glocks in every caliber except 380 and 10mm. However I've shot those Glock in those calibers in the past though. That said I've never shot a Glock or any gun in 45 GAP. And all I have to say is WOW! This Glock 39 45 GAP is a smooth and soft shooting gun. It's a softer than a Glock 21SF I have previously owned,it's also a slightly smoother/softer shooting gun than even my Kahr Arms PM45 too. This kind of surprised me a little because the Kahr PM45 is a soft shooting 45 especially when you consider it's small size and weight into things

Neither the Kahr PM45 or the Glock 39 are what I'd consider to be punishing or painful to shoot. I find both guns to be very easy to controll and shoot accurately.,with the slight edge going to the Glock 39 in these areas. For anyone here who owns or has shot any of the 45 GAP Glocks I'm sure you already know these things.

Also yes I'm aware of the issue of finding GAP ammo there is only one LGS that has it and they only carry speer lawman FMJ. However I had no issues finding self defense JHP ammo online and have some heading to me as I type this. I'm not overly concerned with the fact 45 GAP ammo isn't wildly available locally as I have guns in the more mainstream calibers like 45 ACP and 9mm. Plus I think it's just plain cool to have a Glock chambered in their own cartridge.

And being it's a true subcompact mini Glock having the same frame as the 26/27/33. And only a slightly thicker slide. Still a very small and easy to conceal gun.
So does anyone else here own a Glock in 45 GAP and if so do you enjoy this cartridge for what it does offer in terms of a 45 caliber round in a 9mm/40S&W sized platform? Anyone else besides me using it as an EDC gun?

And yes I know I'm a bit of an oddball and now I have an oddball gun to match me😂Thanks for your input on this guy's.

Don't own any GAP's, but have been thinking about this caliber for a while in the Glock 38 specifically. I don't see the benefit of the 37 and the longer barrel and if I want 10 rds I can use the 37 mags in the 38. Feel about the same with the 39, but the issue there is 6+1 in a Glock 26 sized pistol isn't enough, I'd rather carry a revolver at that point. The G38 is the best of the two sizes, enough capacity to make it useful, small enough to make it carryable, and has enough power, from what I'm seeing slightly more power than .40 S&W.

I get the distaste for the GAP with the lack of ammo and the low capacity compared to the G21 and G30, but it's still a decent cartridge. For reloaders, it's not an issue and as I said in the 9x18 vs .45 GAP thread, those who already reload .45 ACP need nothing to reload GAP other than brass.

Got my used G39 for Christmas. Loaded 150 rounds during bad weather days. Finally got a sunny dry day, shot 50 rounds through it. Rear site needed to be moved slightly, now the little fellow shoots point of aim at 15 yards. Love it. Trying to find a IWB holster now.

I had a 37 for a bit. Shot fine. I liked it. Nothing really good or bad to say about them. Looking at the back of that wider slide was a bit weird at first, but that's about it. Might have been a 17 sized frame, but it wont fit 17 holsters.

I had a bunch of 45GAP brass from when our State Police were using our range and they were carrying them at the time. They were pigs, no, not that kind of pig, well, I guess they are, but its not what I meant, :) sloppy and lazy and didn't clean up after themselves and I cant turn down free brass, even if I don't have a gun for it. :)

Then a few years later, the 37 came through my local shop and it was cheap, nobody seemed to want it, so I figured why not.

Turns out, you're kind of limited in what you load in it and there isn't much data either. 200 grain FM's is what I was loading. I kept hearing you could use 45acp dies and bullets, but that didn't turn out to be true, for the most part anyway. PITA to sort brass if you take a 45acp along at the same time. :)

Hey, if you like it and can deal with the ammo thing, I think you'll like it. I had a 21 and 30S in the past, and they were cool too, a bit large for my hands, but Im more vested in the 9mm's anyway, so they end up trading material pretty quick, when some other shiny, or not so shiny thing catches my eye, and things come down to the cut. :)
