I just picked up an Astra Cadix .22 revolver from a buddy. The gun has what looks like a nickel finish, pearlite, or some kind of plastic pearl-looking grips, and what looks like a 4in barrel. I've not been able to find any info on anything other than a blued finish on these guns, and I'm wondering if this was a gunshop refinishing or an original factory finish. Also the grips look like factory, although everything I've seen on the net looks like it was only offered with regular wood grips. Also, the serial number (770xx) seems to be from before they switched to a 6 digit number in the 1960's, and the gun has no import marks. All the guns I've seen have a "Firearms Intl. etc" stamped underneath the "Astra Uniceta Y Cia" etc, which my gun does not have. Does anybody have any idea of the history of this gun and when it was manufactured?

It could have been bought in Spain or some other country and brought here by an individual. That finish and grip combination might not have been imported here but might have been made for sale elsewhere. That would also account for the lack of an importers' name.
