Sitting in front of me is a box of several hundred .358" Nyclad bullets. There's 200 ea. 148gr DEWC, 200 ea. 130gr HPWC, and 200 ea. 160gr SWC. In order to really get Ted Kennedy's skivvies in a bind, I want to load some of these up in .357 Magnum. Since the Nyclad coating was intended to reduce leading and fouling, I'm of the opinion that the 160gr SWC's might fly just fine from my .357 Magnum Desert Eagle, without fouling or plugging up the gas port.

It appears that a lot of these bullets are showing up as reloading components these days, perhaps S&W and Federal had a large stockpile.

Gewehr98-who's selling them, and do they have the 158 gn hp's? Awhile back picked up a box of the 125 gn hp's (just bullets), but ain't tried em yet. Have seen advertisement in latest Natchez circular, for various Federal pistol and rifle brass.

Did save several boxes of Factory loaded 158 gn Nyclads, because they are so clean, when compared to lead loadings.

I got several 1000 of them on eBay last year. They apeared to be seconds. The bullet diameters ran from undersized to way oversized.
In order to load them I had to order a Lee press mounted bullet sizer kit. Once sized to .358" they loaded just fine.

I loaded them using lead bullet loads for matching weight bullets.
Loading some in .38's and some in .357s. No leading from what I can see, and the accuracy was good.

I lost the link to the seller, and I can't remember their name, so I can't help there.

That's where I got mine, too.

Some reloading forums state to load them to the same levels as jacketed bullets.

I have a Lee bullet sizer, I'll run them through the .358" sizing die just to be safe.
