Anyone ever shoot a bullpup?

I *will* have an RFB .308 if and when they ever come into existence.

And, if the RFB is ever chambered in .260 rem, I not only will have one of the first ones shipped with a 24" bbl, I will walk around in an eternal viagra-induced condition, and sell off nearly all other rifles except rimfires to focus on it and attempt to master it at all ranges out to 600. That's pretty much THE ultimate rifle for me, assuming it runs well and holds up to firing/abuse. It is kewlz, mondo style... I'd get two - one and a backup.

Oh yeah, I have a M17S bullpup from Bushmaster - it's pretty neat but bad trigger and you get a lot of gas/dust/residue in your face if there is little to no wind. Ugly is as ugly does. The primary concern is not having a KB with your head by the chamber, which is why it is imperative that *IF* you reload for a bullpup, you are meticulous as all holy hell and never drink or watch tv or talk on the phone while at the bench.

Why would you have to move your hand from the trigger group for a mag change? I've allways used my off hand for mag changes in both Bullpups, and standard style rifles.

Bullpups take a little more learning to do the mag changes quickly since you can't see the magwell directly under your cheek, but with practice you know where it's at (Kind of like learning how to drive stick).

I've had a little range time with an AUG. I really liked the design, It seemed to stay on target more naturally during auto fire than the m-16 or m-4. The compact layout kinda made me feel like I could get better body geometry for stable shooting than with the standard rifle layout. Of course those observations aren't terribly quantitative just more "feelings". That said, the idea of bullpup design really appeals to me, its like getting the same barrel length (accuracy and velocity) in a rifle with less oal. It seems as though all purpose built bullpups for the civilian market are all either .22lr, or way out of my price range..... maybe one day though.

Take the PS90 for example. It serves its purpose quite well with the short barrel. Tack on a 16" tube and you have a pointless weapon.

Which is why mine has the 10.3" barrel as FN intended.

I've fired about 12k rounds from a P90and 1500 from a F2000.

They are ok, but I think a conventional layout points a little better.

Have a 1975 AK Bullpup from Century, havent had any problems with it...I really like the design and takes a little bit of getting used to but for a 762x39,small shelfed and compact, its an easy carry.

The answer to your question is...yes!

i am a lefty so i dont think it would be a good idea. what happens with the military shooters that are a lefty for the countries that are going to a bull pup? In the USMC i trained on the m16 and carried an M-14 from time to time in the late 70's. both were fine for me

It doesn't matter if you're a lefty, because they (RFB, F2000) eject out the front (or the bottom for the P90). I'm a lefty, I've shot all three, and they all work perfectly for me (although the RFB a bit more perfectly than the others).

everallm has spoken truth. I'll point out that the first two arguements are rendered even more impotent buy a platform like the PS90.

I haven't had a chance to shoot the FS2000 but would like to.

Got an FS2000 for Valentines Day.
Had to buy it myself though, figures.

Spacegun looks make me feel like I'm
driving a rare car.
Someone asked if it was a paintball gun.

Seems a bit less long range accurate than
my 20" barreled AR-15, but long range
accuracy is not why the FNH FS2000
was purchased.

+1 on the fs2000,just waiting to see how it holds up under a little abuse.so far, no failures in 1200+ rounds.it did double once in a while until i sent it back to get the proper firing pin.bull pups are a good choice if you want the most firepower in the smallest package.when not using that criteria...i would prefer a standard rifle.
