There is a scheduled match: NRA High Power Match (200, 300, 600) (80 rds.) on Sep 13 and also Oct 11 at the Club, which is located close to Wright City. << http://brcstl.org/ >>

I have never been to a match, and was thinking about going, just to look to see what this is all about. Would it be worth the trip (about an hour drive for me.)?

Thanks -

Alex

nando aqui,

Yes.

The SLBRC is a class outfit. Very modern range with just about every venue type you can think of.

I've only shot there once. ..... at their season ender X-course match last October.

Do most of my shooting where I live down here in Springfield. We don't have a full course (200,300,600), only a couple of short ranges (100). I do most of my full course shooting at Bucksnort Range, which is just North of I-70, between Sedalia and Marshall. Bucksnort is also only a 2-1/2 hour drive for me.... SLBRC is about 3-1/2.

Where in MO are you???

Are you close enough to drive to Springfield?? We have two monthly CMP style matches down here at 100 yds. using reduced targets. Very casual and lots of fun. Most guys shoot CMP M1 Garands. Some shoot AR's. A few Enfields and '03's.

Best regards,

Swampy,

In St. Louis. I shoot at the Jay Henges range almost every week, which is really nice, but 100 Yd only. Unfortunately, they do not allow sitting, kneeling, or prone - - just standing or from the bench. This really prevents me from practicing for the matches.

Nando, I apologize for not reading this earlier. I read "Benchrest" and never clicked the thread.

I am a Highpower competitor and I'd be happy to answer any questions if you have them. You should probably use the search function and run a search for "Highpower" first.

It appears that the range does not have target pits. IMHO, the 300 and 600 yard portions of the match will be an excercise in futility if there are no pits. You should check on this. Maybe Bogie knows?
