A buddy just bought an Apollo scope, and the guy he got it from told him it was from the early 80's. It's a got a camo rubber coating on it. Has anyone heard of these? Are they decent? He plans to put it on a muzzle loader, will they hold up to that? He asked me for advice, but I'd never heard much of them, and haven't found much online about them either.

If I remember correctly they were fairly decent Japanese glass...should do ok.

1980's seems about right. I bought a Voere 300 Win Mag from that era that had an Apollo scope on it. I have since moved it to another rifle. I've been shooting it for a few years with no problems. has very clear optics and has held up to the recoil of a 30-06 for quite a few rounds.
