I was wondering if anyone here carrys an hk usp fullsize model? I was going to order a new compact in .45 but the price is close to $800 after tax/shipping considering I can get a used one LNIB for $525 of so and you not saveing anything really with the compact I'am going to go with the fullsized one. That being said has anyone concealed one of these with sucess? FWIW I currently carry a full size colt 1911 everyday with no trouble and I've carried my beretta 92fs with no touble do you guys think the usp fullzise would be a good choice for a non 1911 .45 that has the same manual of arms?

I had a Glock 21 and it was a cannon I compared the usp to one the local shop had in and the grip of the usp is alot thinner, shorter and not as fat as the G21's grip it seems to me. Also the usp is tad shorter the big but in all this is that slide is really thick! I also like the usp's feel, bore axis, balance and control location (the controls feel very 1911ish in nature to me atleast) better than the Glock 21's. All this being said I thinking the usp with some 12 round mags would mag an excellant concealed weapon what do you guys think?

I carry a full size occasionally. I am a skinny dude, so I have to kind of dress around it but and IWB and jacket and you're good to go. It does get heavy but if you're used to the 1911 it shouldn't be a big deal.

Now that I have my XD9 subcompact that is my primary though, it is a lot easier to conceal.

Basically, it is possible just not incredibly easy. That being said I LOVE that gun. I have put 3,000+ rds through it with no failures of any kind, and it is way more accurate than I am. For the price you quoted I'd snatch it in a second. I am going to get me a compact or p2000 one of these days.

I have both a fullsize and a compact HK USP in .45acp and from my experience the .45C makes a better carry package especially if your going to carry many hours at a time. It is not the weight, but the physical size of the 45F that can be an issue. Since you are comfortable with the full size Beretta this will not be an issue for you, but I think you would find the 45C more comfortable for all day carry, and for CCW purposes there will not be a noticeable difference in firepower! ;) The HK USP 45's are about as good as it gets in an out-of-box 45acp under $1000! :)

If you get the chance to inspect that used compact and it appears well-taken care of, you'd be getting a decent deal at $525. I own a 45c and a 9f and carry one or the other everyday. The .45 is no problem to conceal, and niether is the 9mm, though the latter is a recent acquisition and I've had the advantage of winter clothing to help out. However, going IWB with a shirt, vest, or light jacket as a cover garment shouldn't present any problems (I'm 5'8", 160lbs.)

Between your carrying the Beretta and the 1911, you won't see any new problems carrying the USP that you haven't addressed already.

Edit: Spelling. Hooktun fonikz wurkz phur me!!
