Made by Armscor in the Philippines. It looks promising in handgunner magazine. Tests with several hundred rounds showed no problems, and the price is right.@ $599, msrp
1911 Compact *CQBP/C (Close Quarters Battle Pistol/Civilian), with diamond checkered walnut grips and a 3 5/8" barrel.

Ambidextrous operation, with skeletonized trigger, combat hammer and extended beavertail for fast-grab, safety and comfort.

Aggressive aft slide serrations for better control when operating slide in high-stress situations. Parkerized finish.

Weighs 2.43lbs when loaded with 7 + 1 .45 ACP rounds. Made by Armscor, (Rock Island Armory), Imported by Taylor & Co.

I think duelist did a video on one.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't made right next to the RIA CS tactical & Citadel compact, by the same people, working out of the same parts bins. Which is a mark in favor of it. If anything, it will be a touch better than the RIA by way of an extra QA step.
Armscor will warranty it just like anything they make (they have pretty good CS, although some people report it taking two tries, I suspect that some of those people are trying to get a showpiece out of a $500 gun, not a utility gun)

If you're near me, you're welcome to try out my Armscor compacts - they're good little guns. I saw the Taylor's model as well, the MSRP seems a bit high compared to the RIA/Citadel models, but I don't know what real price will be on them.

(no promises on that link, work computer and YT aren't compatible)

Yes thanks, I had googled that one also. It looked flatter in pictures in Hand gunner magazine. I looked at the print Ad for it, and the write up was very good. It also had no roll marks on it, "which I found appealing". I was surprised that the weight was 39 oz., I had read another article saying it was lighter.
I will have to wait, as you mentioned to see what they are actually selling for. It seems that 1911 clones are every ware as of late. For under $500.00 if the trigger is good it may be a buy. But it is going to be too heavy If that weight is the real weight.

Armscor frames are just as thick as any other 1911 frame.
I like my carry guns flat and thin as well, so I stick slimline grips on mine, maybe you saw one outfitted that way?

I haven't weighed my carry guns, but Armscor does not make lightweight frames, that gun will be all steel. I'll try to remember to toss one of mine on the kitchen scale for a ballpark weight figure, the CCO-ish I had Armscor make me from their parts bin will be a bit heavier, but it should give a baseline. I'd compare the Citadel compact 45, but that frame is doing duty as the fire control system in a carbine at the moment.

My RIA 5" tactical fs weights in at 38oz on wifes kitchen scale so an advertised 39oz is very real. And the slide off a ria could fit right on a colt 1911 along with all other main parts, sans sights. All or any 1911 may need hand fitting to get a functional pistol. Local ria gi sells for 409 with the various no rail tact selling for 468 + or -
