Came across some "new" powder at the LGS the other day and picked up a pound to try. Gonna use it in my 223, 22-250, 243, maybe even 7-08. Just curious as to what's everyone's experience with it good/bad. How well does it meter? Temperature stability? Etc.

Also, I've been told the additive is bismuth to help with the copper. Any truth to it?

I've shot a few pounds of it through my AR. I like it and would have bought more if it had been available locally. It meters well, and seems to have the same consistency and similar ballistics to BL(C)-2. Or at least it looks the same and has similar velocities in the data. I don't know about the additive. There are several other threads about it here with some more opinions.

Sounds good. Any sage advice for us newbies to this powder, maybe some favorite recipes. I just acquired a couple pounds myself

I would have searched and usually do, but an stuck on my smart phone since I'm away from my computer. When I try to search it just blows up the font size and scrolls to the top left screen. Weird. So I just started a new thread. Sorry of this is another horse being beat.

I hav tried CFE223 in 17 Remington and 204 Ruger.

I was not pleased with it in 17 Remington but really have not spent much time with it. I have not given up on it yet.

I am having good luck with CFE223 in the 204 Ruger, both in my semi-auto American Rifle and a bolt rifle. I am still working on finding the sweet spot but am still pleased with my results.

Eventually, I will try it in 223 Remington.

I just finished a batch of .223 with CFE, got the load data from thier website...don't know how they shoot but it meters nicely and fills the case well (won't double charge, matters to me as a newb). Just don't spill any, I bumped my measure and dumped a load and it went EVERYWHERE!
