ive been asked to help build an AR10. Currently looking for the barrel, gas block and BCG. I'm thinking 20" with a 1/10 twist. I have up to $600 for this. BCG? A high pressure modle with a pin that's not tricky to find. I've got about $275 for this. I'm going to let him try my one and two stage triggers. He wants to hunt with it and that lends me to think a two stage. He's allocated me $250 for the trigger. Ideas! Know who's got sales going on?

I have yet to need a high pressure Bolt... I slow the cyclic speed by using a heavy buffer weight, a stronger recoil spring, and an Adj. GB.

Slowing the cyclic speed allows extraction at a lower chamber pressure, and is easier on everything... you , the parts, the brass, and allows a quicker/ easier follow up shot.

Prior to assm. , make sure to true / lap the upper receiver face flat... it is well worth the added effort.

Geiselle HS National Match 2 stage on sale for the trigger.

AGB, without question. I run mostly JP’s, and I despise the wasted energy of the superlative bleeding blocks. SLR are good as well. I vastly prefer clamp on over set screw type.

$600 barrel? Proof, Krieger, Shilen.

Don’t overthink the BCG.

I'm running a stock-from-the box Aero BCG in my .358W build. I used M5 receiver halves, and one issue with the larger ARs is they never had the benefit of a standardized specification the way the small ARs did...as a result, the best way to make sure some parts work together is to stay with the same brand. I read reports of some BCGs not having the serrations for the forward assist in the right place to work with the Aero upper. A minor thing, but i wanted to make a professional build where everytihing worked properly, and Aero generally makes good parts, so i kept it "in the family."

Can't vouch for the SLR gas block personally, but i used one of their Solo Lite rails on the gun and the fit and finish was excellent. Wouldn't think twice about using their stuff.

I used an Odin Works click-adjustable block and it works wonderfully.

I HAVE used Criterion barrels in several AR15 builds, and they have been top notch. Considering one of their 6.5CM barrels if i decide to make another upper.

Thanks. Kinda where I was heading. Mine is a Black Rain. After arguing with the company CEO over his triggers I've not done much with it. This will be interesting if I can outbuild what I bought. I hope I don't taint the comparison with purposefully shoot the BR poorly. Thanks.
