I’ll need to amend my price, the Venom is $179.99 ($50 off) at PSA. The StrikeFire II is currently $129.99 (also $50 off) and the Romeo 5 iirc was $99.99 at Primary Arms one day last week (24 hour sale).

After a few years of shopping and ordering from PSA I finally realized you have to add coupon codes at check out to see and receive the lower price. Those codes are clearly denoted with a gray box on product pages as seen below in the screenshot.

I think I’m seeing a Bearcreek side-charging upper, ATI stock, and MOE grip??? A buddy just bought the same Upper in .350 and itchin to shoot it.

I just swapped an ERGO Suregrip for a K2+ with 17* angle on my irons only SD/HD rifle. Supposed to be more comfortable for offhand shooting and so far I agree. Mention it because I’m also mulling over .350 Legend if it takes off for late season whitetail.

uhhhhh....lemme go look, BCA upper for sure......
Alpha combat butt stock. I've seen these sold under other names. With how much the side charger weights, I wanted more mass than the ATI Taclites I like offered. I've also used this stock on two other builds and for the cost I like them.
Vism Grip, MOE knock off the tho the grip feels like it has a little more take.
Anderson "match" lpk...that didn't need any polishing amazingly enough.

and up top that Burris ff3 AR. I got that nib off eBay for 189 shipped when I was trying to get a dot for my Canik Tp9sfx. I ended up with two of the ff3s, so that ones been on almost all of my short range plinking guns. I had it on my buckmark for a while and it MAY end up back on there, with the trs25 going on the AR.

IMO the .350 legend is a big 30carbine with similar trajectories, dots make great sense for these type of rounds.
one thing I've done to "sharpen" the dot is to use the small aperture of my flip up sights. do that and the dots actually pretty useful as a hold over assistant.

I don't have plans to use it more than 50 yards probably less than 25.

This is obviously a use case for a red dot. An S&W MP-15 obviously isn't going to be used to try to drill bench-rested bugholes (not that it's inaccurate, just that getting a .3" group at 50 yards isn't a sensible objective or purpose), so at 25 to 50 yards there's unlikely to be real benefit to magnification. There's really no reason to go with a scope in this instance. None.

Although a low, variable magnification rifle scope (LVPO) would certainly be an option for what you want to do, I don't think you will find a decent one anywhere close to what you are looking to pay.

And it will be a lot heavier, too, and more sensitive to head position.

I have a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x, and I love its flexibility. It makes hitting steel plates at 300-500 yards doable in a way that a RDS, even with a magnifier, just doesn't (at least for me). But it is definitely not as fast handling as an RDS. I would not recommend it, or anything similar, for something that is just going to be shot at <50 yards.

I've got one of these also (mounted on a Colt 6920) and for a $300 scope, it's been excellent. Love the dual focal plane with etched reticle, works well without turning it on, and stays zeroed. Easy to get used to using it with both eyes open at 1X from close range, so yeah, it's flexible.

I still maintain that the SIG Romeo 5 is the best budget red-dot out there, and will reiterate that for an all-purpose red-dot (especially for <100 yards), the Aimpoint PRO rules due to its battery life, durability and ease of use.
