You know those 'slip-over the barrel to make it look shorter' style xm177 flash suppressors? How long are those from where they attach to the barrel to the tip? I'm just wondering because I have a 14" barreled Bushmaster with a 2" flash suppressor permanently pinned and wanted to remove the current flash suppressor and put on the slip-over xm177 style one... once on, would it be long enough to cover the 2 inches? (the one I'm looking at can fit over heavy M4-style barrels like the one my Bushmaster has)

Here is the link to Brownell's. It has both
the extra long and the slipover. I tried one
on my M4 profile barrel and it wouldn't fit.
It fit fine on the Colt Sporter that I had then.
You could call them and ask them about the fit.

As much as I dislike some of AR-15, they really get things right in the retro forum, check there about slipover xm-177 flash hiders. One thing to make sure of, Is the barrel behind the existing suppressor straight or tapered?
