I know there are a lot of drop in triggers available but who makes the best? My new Ar came with one that has about an 8lb. pull

Geissele or TriggerTech for me. For lower cost Rock River NM and Varmint 2 stage, or preferably the old Bushmaster NM 2 stage when they can be found.

The Larue "I can wait" price trigger might be the best bang for the buck and is a very good trigger.

Geissele triggers are highly thought of.

Trigger Tech is one of, if not the, best of the drop in triggers.

Lot's of price range in AR 15 triggers.

What would you like to spend and what do you want to do with the rifle?

For the price you pay and what you get the Larue MBT is the best deal going last month I got one direct from Larue for $87 + $7.95 flat rate shipping. Just aren't gonna be that price.

Primary is target shooting but I'm planning on using my 6.8 SPC upper on deer next season and possibly a hog hunt.

6.8 SPC is a great choice for deer and hog, back on topic now is for target and hunting a Larue will serve those roles very well.

I've used GI triggers, the RRA 2 stage NM and most recently the LaRue.

I'm really liking the LaRue, the RRA was pretty good but a little creepy.

Ive got 3 Larue triggers, they just came out with a flat faced trigger bow. The Larue trigger is great but it is not a Geisslle SSA-E.

I actually prefer it as it feels much crisper to me. Prefer the "icicle" break vs the "carrot" break of the Geissele.

I wish that folks would quit recommending the LaRue MBT.

It makes us wait longer for one when we order. :)

No kidding. I'm about a month away from ordering a trigger and barrel from them, and I keep cringing with every recommendation that I see for their trigger.

I ordered a larue MBT on April 16th and it arrived on April 21st. I'm thinking they have a few in stock or I just got lucky.

As for the OP question I am fairly new to the world of aftermarket AR triggers but I decided to join the party and ordered the larue for one @ $87 and geissele ran an Easter sale so I got a 2 stage Geissele for $130 and I honestly have to say I think the LaRue is the better value.

The larue is slightly lighter and crisper but the geissele feels more like a military/combat trigger and reset on the Geissele is slightly better. If you transition from one to the other the larue will surprise you and touch one off if u aren't paying attention.

In summation, both triggers are excellent. I think I might like the geissele a lil better but splitting some pretty fine hairs between the two. If I just wanted to dip my toe into the aftermarket trigger world and not break the bank but also significantly improve the feel of my rifle I'd go with the larue. Same could be said for the Geissele though.... Both Great. Either of those two would be my vote... good luck

One of the upsides of orderimg the Geissele though is he will send along Christmas presents for the whole family lol... I got so much extra stuff with my trigger it's actually pretty great.

I did my first ever aftermarket trigger on an AR, I was late to the AR game. I put the Larue MBT in my AR last summer for less than $90. It's a great value by far. One of the nicer triggers I've ever used.

From what I've heard on Reddit, for 2019 so far Larue seems to be shipping out the curved MBT triggers within a day or 2 so they must have them in stock. Sounds like the straight triggers might have more of a lead time right now.
