I plan on getting a different upper for my Bushmaster AR-15 within the next couple of weeks. I have looked at the Bushmaster site and the uppers are a tad expensive.

I have also looked at this site http://www.eaglefirearms.net/ef_upper_assy.htm#5.56mm Uppers
and the prices are somewhat lower, but I do not know how good the quality is. I know you usually "get what you pay for", but I also understand in many cases you pay for the name more than the product.

Does anyone have any experience with Eagle Firearms AR-15 Uppers? If so, how good (bad) are they?

I don't mind paying more for the upper from Bushmaster, but if the Eagle Firearms quality is just as good, the money I could save I could buy more ammo, thus do more shooting :)

Any other recommendations/tips/hints are welcome.

Thanks.

Eagle Firearms has a good rep on ar15.com. I sent an email with a question about a product and they responded quickly. I'd order from them. You might check adco.com for RRA or custom AR uppers or parts; they also have a good rep.

i've only ordered lowers and lower parts from eagle, but they have been outstanding to deal w/. i would be surprised if you could not get satisfaction from one of their uppers.

I don't own an Eagle Arms AR-15, but I do own two Eagle Arms AR-10s. Good stuff, works really well and they are easy to deal with.

Eagles are good uppers, don't hesitate.

Also, you might think about DPMS. If you have a dealer (01 or 03) discount Midway has them VERY cheap. Worth getting that C&R license for, you'd save $80 right off the bat with the first purchase...which pays for the C&R license by a good bit.

Go with Rock River Arms upper get it at ADCO, I just bought my third one from ADCO and I am using all of them on Bushmaster lowers. My local FFL gets the Bushie lowers for an excellent price out the door. It would actually cost me more to order one over the net.

ADCO good to deal with and they can also do lots of fancy customization on the upper for you also if you desire.

RRA goes that extra mile to make sure their uppers function 100% Like making the M4 ramp cuts in the upper, and polishing the bolt carrier, properly staking the gas key etc.

The biggest difference between the Eagle and Bushy uppers is that Bushy uses 4150 barrel steel and Eagle uses 4140. For most people, and for most uses, this is a non-issue, but it does explain the difference in price. I would not be afraid of a Eagle upper.
