OK I need a little help here. I am looking at a AR 15 and don't know a lot about them. I was looking on the Rock River site and was wondering what the difference is between the A2 and A4 upper. They look the same, same twist rate, are both chromed lined barrel and both shoot the same MOA. Thanks for any help you can give me.

A2 fixed carry handle, A4 removeable,.

Your 1st AR, I reccomend a flat-top, cheaper and more options for optics. Or if not get one with the removeable carry handle.

The A2 has a permenetly attached carry handle and the A4 is a flattop. The reason you are not getting any replies is because this "what should I get AR" topic has been addressed soooo many time here :)
Do a search for AR and you will be blessed with a mountain of information.

Also like to mention that bravo! you are on the right track by considering chrome lined barrels.

A4 is a flattop. You can mount optics directly to it.

A2 is the carryhandle that has iron sights. Typically, you don't mount optics to it, but there are mounts that do that.

RRA is praised by many people. I think they're ok. I don't think you'd be making a mistake with them. The best thing they've got going is their trigger. I'm not certain if they're chrome-lined by default, that might be an option. They probably mean chrome-moly, which is just the steel they use.

I'd take a look at Armalite too. They've got chrome-lined barrels and a mid-length lineup. Their fit and finish and overall quality is excellent.

Other good choices would be Colt and Stag. Although, the RRA is probably the best value in that it's the most gun for the price.
