Hi all, i'm hoping some one out there in internet land can help me out with this.

I just finished building an AR pistol (7 inch) and it is having some power issues that I have been unable to fix. When I chamber a round and fire the back pressure is not high enough to work the bolt to the point of extracting the spent round and chamber a live one. Occasionally (30ish% of the time) it will eject the spent casing but it has never loaded a new one.

I decided to purchase a Flaming Pig by Noveske but that made no difference.

I can provide additional details if needed. Thanks in advance.

Additional details:
My friend and I both built one of these at the same time. When we ordered parts we just ordered two of everything. His works flawlessly.

This is also not the first AR build I have done so I am pretty sure I have everything together correctly.

The first thing that comes to mind is, the hole in the gas block is not aligned properly with the gas port hole in the barrel. If it's a clamp-on gas block, try turning it one way or the other while blowing compressed air down the barrel.

You will need to block the chamber with an empty case or plug the muzzle and blow in the chamber end.

At some point you should notice where the air is shut off or reduced, and where it is able to flow freely through the gas tube.

Thanks for the idea RC.

When I was putting on the gas block I just eyeballed it. I have adjusted it a few times with no noticeable change but that may be because the hole in the barrel is off center, maybe. I'm going to try the compressed air thing as soon as I can.

It also gave me the idea that maybe the tube itself is blocked. I'm going to run some pipe cleaners through it. To check.

Any other ideas are welcome. With my work schedule I only get to go out about every Saturday so it may take a few days for me to try these things out.
