I have a Stag Arms AR15 in 6.8SPC. Im the second owner. The previous owner installed a free floated Yankee Hill Quad rail and a new gas block. The new Gas block is held in place by three set screws. One of the set screws was stripped. I drilled it out as carefully as I could. I dimpled the barrel slightly. About half as deep at worst as the cuts in the barrel for the orignal Pinned front sight/gasblock. It is in the thicker part of the barrel where the gas block monts. Again its very shallow, at worst half as deep as the pin slots or less.

What do you think? Is this barrel OK?

Can you post a picture or two?

Off the top of my head no. A small dimple isn't a big deal. Some folks do what you did to hold in a setscrew for the gasblock/FS

However some pics and something in the pic to reference size would allow for a better answer.

Good luck

P.S. For you helping you, we request a detailed range report with more pics.
