AR15 Jamming problem Orlite

Took my ar out for the first time not so good so far i loaded 5 round into the mag and 3 shot had a ftf. It was clearing the first round and then the next round to be loaded in the chamber never made it there it was jammed into the side of the barrel or some where up there. damaged the round so bad could not be used anymore dented and bullet burried in the neck. did this every magazine i loaded. Also it was a orlite magazine do you think that is the problem?

easiest way to check this is to try a different mag. Haven't had any problems with orlite myself but if it happens the same every time its proly the mag.

What ammo were you using? The first couple hundred rounds need to be full powered stuff.

Orlites are prone to fail by cracking the feed lip.

If you want cheap, near indestructible plastic mags for the AR, get a PMAG. We tried to damage some when they first came out without success. Threw it down loaded on concrete, kicked it around, then threw it some more. Mag was scratched but worked fine.

The solution is simple, throw the Orlite mag over the berm and the problem will correct itself.

Sell your Orlites and buy some PMAGs if you want plastic mags. Never hurts to have a couple of GI mags on hand, especially those with the Magpul follower. I also have a few CProducts steel 20-rd mags that I like for shooting off the bench.

Life is too short to use crappy magazines.

Ive got O-kay mags....pre-ban of course? Any one ever have any experience with these mags?
