Are powder measures for turrit loaders more accurate than bench mounted ones?

Alright, I checked my scales with some weights I had back in college a hundred years ago and found my Lee scale is .3 lower reading than my new Redding scale rather than the .5 I has previously mentioned. Again, my Lee powder measure throws a different charge every time using my new scale. Someone mentioned using a trickler, but for pistol charges how do the turret (automatic) powder chargers do? Are they more accurate or do the charges vary as they seem to with my single stage unit? Thanks.

Dave :confused:

How much does it vary? I wouldn't worry about +/- 0.1 gr. If a tenth of a grain matters that much you're using the wrong powder.

You say the Lee scale shows .3gr lower than the Redding. Does either show the correct weight?

While that's better than nothing, this is what we've been talking about;

With these, you'll KNOW exactly what you're weighing.

As for the accuracy of a turret mounted disc measure from lee, it is very consistent with ball powders, less so with flake powders. Slight variations in charge weight when loading pistol ammo is nothing to worry about.

The Redding shows the correct weight.

The powder I've been using is Unique. I'm about to start with Titegroup as soon as my jug runs dry as I got a deal on a four pound bottle of Titegroup.

I haven't had any mishaps with my reloading and since it's mostly target shooting it's not that important, but I know that many of my rounds have a bit more recoil that commercial loads and I think it's because of the powder charge weights that I've been getting.

Anyone have a favorite place to buy primers (least expensive)? And while I'm on that, have any of you used Wolf primers? They seem to be the best price now, but are they any good? Thanks again.

Dave :scrutiny::)

I have never used Unique but have heard from many that it doesn't meter well in most powder measures. I use Titegroup in a Pro Auto Disk on a Classic Turret and it meters great.
