Be very interested in your take on this one. Ive had a fair pile of Athlons, and none have disappointed.
I havent had any experience with the BTRs under the Midas range, or Athlons with that much magnification.

I am using an Athlon Argos Gen2 BTR 8-34X56 30mm. At 300yds on white paper targets I can see .224" bullet holes. My only regret is that this is a MIL scope and at 300yds one click moves my impact one full bullseye. So if impacting just left of bull one click moves me to just right of the bull where MOA would give a slightly finer adjustment.

Scope arrived 7 calendar days after ordering.

The ad stated, "This items demo condition relates to the damaged packaging, the optic itself is in Like New condition" but only damage on the packaging I could see were these light dents on cardboard box and scope looks brand new without any damage. Needless to say, I am quite happy having paid $350 for scope that I have only been able to find lowest price for $429. Scope came with flip covers. As expected, scope was made in China.

Turrets have definite positive "click" and rear focus ring moves smoothly with the flip cover. I did the same 100 yard power transformer on the telephone pole comparison I did for Burris FF E1 6.5-20x50, Viridian Serac 6-24x50 and Vortex Crossfire II 6-24x50. Even though sky was cloudy, small letters were clearly visible at 20x power. Recalling the experience I had with Arken EP5 5-25X56 FFP MOA scope at 100 yards, I am now starting to have warm and fuzzy feelings about this Athlon and Viridian Serac scopes. I plan to do 100 yard testing along with turret tracking box test but we have a week of rain forecast so will update when I can have a dry day of shooting.

As I have posted before I am using and Athlon Argos 8-34X56 MRAD on my Savage 223 for our winter rifle league and the past 5 weeks we have shot from 100, 200,300, 200 and back to 300yds. with a 100yd Zero set it is exactly 7 clicks to 200yds and from 200yds it is been 10 more clicks to 300 yards and each adjustment in elevation has been exactly on mark going back and forth between these ranges. Which is great because for the last 4 weeks we have not been allowed any sigh-in shots.

This was a 200yd target.

This was this weeks 300yd target.
week 7a.jpg

One shot each at the black circles and 7 shots at the heat targets.
these head targets washed out very badly in the bright sun. of 19 shooters all but 4 shooters struggled with this target. Last year this was shot at 200yds.
