Call or e-mail your local state senator ASAP! Senate Bill 1046 (the "Castle Doctrine").

Basically, this bill gives us the right to self-defense, defense of loved ones, and defense of victims of violent crimes. It gives you immunity from criminal prosecution and civil suits if you are legally defending yourself (including deadly force--i.e. firing a gun). It also states that you do NOT have a "duty to retreat". Please read this bill and contact your local senator to support it.

It passed in the Senate Judiciary Committee and is on its way to the entire Michigan Senate. If it passes there, then it's on to the House. Please support this bill and our Second Amendment rights.

More on this at the following NRA link.

Finally, someone introduces a bill that is long overdue!! :D

Sorry, didn't see the other post about this already on here! But this issue can't be taken too lightly, so duplicate posts aren't such a bad thing in this case.

Hey Moderators, can we sticky a post about the MI "Castle Doctrine" (SB 1046)? It's going to the entire MI senate in a week or two, according to the clerk at my senator's office. This would obviously be a step in the right direction toward protecting our 2nd Amendment rights in MI.
