Prepare yourself for a shock: this "documentary" is in fact mostly an anti-gun propaganda piece loaded with half-truths and emotional drivel.
It was on this evening, and I tuned in because I was expecting a real documentary on the man and the machine. It turns out to be some history intermixed with a lot of scenes and interviews designed to portray firearms as inherently evil objects which act as a catalyst for violence by their very existance.
They spend a good deal of the latter half of the film showing the North Hollywood robbery/shootout and interviewing various cops and gangbangers in the LA area. Lots of gorey crime scene and postmortem still photos for added emotional impact.
Rather than documenting the life and work of Mikhail Kalashnikov, it's really a condemnation of the world-wide "gun culture" and firearms in general mascarading as "impartial" journalism.
Check it out, folks. The uninformed and the sheeple out there are eating this crap up.
