Its five degrees out, we can't go shoot, so let's get out our calculators and figure how much on average we have spent buying guns since 1999, I'll go first:

1999: Bought two pistols, spent $700, sold one, keeper was $275.
Total for the year-$275.

2000: Bought five handguns and two rifles, spent $1,345. Sold six and
kept one that cost $40.
Total for the year-$40.

2001: Bought three handguns and two rifles, spent $1,550. Sold all of
them.
Total for the year-0.

2002: Bought four handguns and one rifle, spent $1,155. Sold four and
keeper cost $230.
Total for the year-$230.

2003: Bought seven handguns and one rifle, spent $3,395. Sold five and
kept three that totaled $1,295.

Total net annual expenditure for the time period was $1,840.
Divide this figure by the five years and you get $368.

Okay, now its your turn.

All depends on how big the tri-mester bonuses are. I'm guessing proberly $700-$1500 annually. Also depends on what I'm in the market for. last year I finally decided to by a P7M8 -there's $1000+ and within a week the Ruger SBH 45 Hunter is announced - there's another $500. So far this year is looking like it may be $1000- 1500. So long as business is good.

well i bought my first gun last Jan., since then i've added 2 more pistols, a shotgun, and an AR, so that's :
3 pistols, 1 shotty, 1 rifle= $2,400
prob. $600 in accessories
and $800 in ammo

I'm not exactly sure, but I know I could be driving a much nicer car if I didn't have guns.

Actually, I try to buy one gun a year, but lately find myself spending more on training than on gear. Of course, a lot of that training comes in the form of magazines, but what the heck.

I did just buy a new Browning/FN High Power!

Now I have to go buy a case of ammunition and half a dozen magazines and think about what I want done to it at the custom house.

ajacobs-Some of the sales were a break even, some I made a profit on, and a couple I lost a little. After the dust had settled at the end of 2003 I was ahead.

I'm working on an ammo tabulation right now. I keep record of when and what I took out to the range and how much I fired. I'll post it tomorrow night and we can have fun with that one (THAT sure will be interesting won't it?!):p

Started in 99 w/ 1 pistol and 2 rifles for a total around $2100.
Then in 2000 I bought 1 rifle for $500.
2001-02 were barren years with no purchases.
Finally, in 2003 I spent $3000 on 1 rifle and 1 pistol.
This year, I plan on spending maybe $2000, at the most.

Well, since I changed accounting software sometime in 2001, all I have is 2002 and 2003 data.

2002 - $1,819.66
2003 - $2,363.58

Shhhh! Don't tell my wife. She'll kill me.

in 2003 i bough a few..

sar-1 $350

12 gage double barrel shotgun $200

22 rifle $50 bucks

30-06 "free" :)

and i would say 300 bucks for ammo for all the guns...I need a new pistol but need to wait for my tax money that should be here in a week or so :)

2003 - didn't buy any.
Previous years, "what guns?" [ patience and carry cash]

Seems as if I did spend a bunch on ammo and supplies, actually ammo and supplies usually outweigh firearm purchases themselves.

I do recall one purhase on ammo/supplies alone in '03 that was $900...that count?

Counting ammo, accessories, training (and related expenses)...............?
Or just actual firearms.

I don't want to say, but if you make a poll, make some choices at least 10-20 times anything listed on this thread so far. I spend easily a couple thousand a year on ammo.

OK, folks, as requested, I've started another thread with a poll attached. Great idea for a survey! I'm going to close this thread, and ask respondents to continue to post their replies (and vote in the poll) on the new thread, which is here.

Kudos to 38snapcaps for starting this discussion! :D
