I finally got my Yugo M76 sniper rifle from Assault Weapons of Ohio (AWO). I ordered it back in March and got it last week. Overall i am pleased with the rifle. Fit and finish is good and looks real great. Took it out back to sight it in today. I only have about 50 meters max shoot in and although the scope lowest setting is 100 meters, i made do at 50m. I used PPU 196gr SP (seems appropriate) to sight it in. I have some surplus Yugo 8mm sniper to use, but want to save it when i get to a longer range.

Wife came out when I was shooting and surprised me when she wanted to shoot it. Remarked the recoil wasn't to bad.

Three shoot group circled in the pic, isn't to bad.

Shoot a little more then a half a box and had no issue with functioning.

Years ago a guy would wander around the local gun shows carrying an original M76.
He didn't want to sell it, he just carried it around to make other people drool...

Didn't all the original M76's imported get ruled as machine guns and get confiscated?

That was the early imported PSLs, they had an "evil" hole in the receiver. Funny thing was despite the fact that the PSL was always a semi-auto and the extra hole being there for a safety sear, the ATF felt that made it easy to convert to full auto. So those got recalled and from then on the receiver was a new US made one or a new Romanian one without the hole.

I saw one once; the actual designation for the .308 version is the M78. I think Mitchell is the only company that ever imported them.
