HB 2630 is on the way to the governor's desk. Those who wrote and emailed your represenatitives, good job! Now is the time to contact Governor Napolitano.
Dear RKBA supporter:
HB 2630, Concealed Carry, Petty Offence has passed both houses of the
Arizona legislator and has been sent to the Governor. Last year, she vetoed
a similar bill.
It is important that you contact Governor Napolitano immediately. We must
encourage her to sign HB 2630 and not veto it!
HB 2630 changes the penalty for carrying a concealed weapon. Currently the
penalty is 6 months in jail and/or $2500 fine!
HB 2630 changes the penalty, making it a petty offence with a maximum fine
of $300. However, if the individual is carrying a concealed weapon during
the commission of a serious crime, it remains a Class 1 misdemeanor.

Why is this important? It is important because law enforcement and
prosecutors have arrested people because their firearm, which they have
chosen to carry openly, is not totally visible to them!
This is no joke. There was an individual arrested in Phoenix several years
ago who was arrested for concealed carry even though his firearm was totally
visible, but his hip was not facing the officer so the officer could not see
it!
Another problem is when one person in a vehicle has a CCW permit and others
do not. If the firearm is not totally visible to an officer who pulls you
over for a minor traffic infraction, those who do not have CCW permits may
be cited for having a concealed weapon in a mode of transportation.
Let's correct this grave injustice. Call, write, fax or email the governor
immediately!
