I'm looking to get into reloading, but don't have a lot of space. I really really like the concept of using a Black and Decker Workmate and building a custom top for it because I'd be able to fold it up and stow it, unlike, for example, the Lee reloading press stand or similar. However, I've read in a few places that the B&D Workmate is not stable enough for sizing rifle brass. Wondering if anybody here has experience with that? Could it be remedied by something as simple as throwing a few weights onto the bottom shelf?

The lack of responses should speak volumes. I have a workmate that I use as a stand for my miter saw. It rocks and rolls with just that. I would venture that if you added about 300 lbs it might be solid enough to do pistol cases. But I'm not available to sit on it for you. :D

I happen to use a old workmate for my presses. I have a classic lee turret press on it now and it is plenty Sturdy for what I need to load
