Bandits on the porch

We got woken up one night by 3 Possums doing laps in the pool. It was so funny, we just stood there and watched. I put on the outdoor lights, and they could care less. I didn't realize that they do their business in the water. They hung out for about 5 minutes and split, maybe tere was a better party someware else. Since then I put a float in the pool which keeps them away.

My sister saw a "rat" around the trashcan the other night. I go outside, and see a possum-about the size of a chihuahua walking along the edge of the recycling bin. It ran off when it saw me. Then, I came out later, and heard rustling in the trashcan. sure enough, it was the possum. Sure enough, it played dead. "Maybe if I stay still, they won't see me" Haha.

Hear something in our garbage can one night and went to check. Eased the back door open and Mr Racoon was there so I scared him off. Wife calls me at work the next night and says you'll never believe what just happened. She heard something in the trash can and she proceeds to imitate me from the night before but she throws the door open, ready to yell at Mr Racoon and Mr Skunk is there with the business end pointing her way. She said she slowly eased the door closed and luckily Mr Skunk didn't take offense. lol

LOL some great comments on here.

Great pic also, those poor little critters sure look like they would rather be somewhere else.

In all truth in Florida, you have to shoot them (at least in the panhandle). Rabies is such a bad disease there that infection is very common and you just can't take a chance.

At least, that was my family's experience.

Ahhhhhh...
Stewed coon...
Dress 'em, toss 'em in a crock pot, add wine, water and spices of your choosin.
Slow cook all day and add potatoes and carrots to the pot about an hour before done.
Yuuuuummm. YUM!

Bleah!

Just as soon eat a rat.

posssum is pretty good too actually

Years ago my dad had the squirrel, raccoon and possum relocation project well under way. A live trap, a pickup and remote state park 15 miles away were all that was needed. Most likely not legal, but too funny when the neighbor naming and feeding the squirrels can't figure out what happened to "fluffy and peanut".
