Wondering if someone with a Barnes manual could lend me a hand. I have Nosler and Lymans, but they don't have the info i'm looking for.

I'm working up a load for my 30-06 using 180 grain Barnes Tipped Triple Shock Bullets. I'm using Hodgdon H-4350 powder. Looking at Hodgdon's website, they show a min/max powder charge of 52.0/57.5 grains for 180 GR. SIE SPBT bullet at COL 3.300. Barnes website doens't show H-4350, but they show they're loading to COAL 3.218.

I was wondering if the Barnes Manual shows a range of powder loads for H-4350 at the COAL of 3.218.

The load I want to try is 54.0 grains of H-4350 at COAL 3.285. Just want to make sure that by seating deeper than what Hodgdon's website says I'm not going to run into any issues with increased pressure. I loaded a few up this evening and when seating the bullets, I was getting a little bit of crunching powder sound which is what made me wonder. It seemed strange since Hodgon's site showed a COL of 3.300 and the max charge of 57.5 grains didn't indicate a compressed load. BTW, I measured each charge by hand and calibrated scale beforehand.

Thanks for any help/advice.

My Barnes #4 Manual doesn't show the TTSX, but does show both TSX BT and MRX BT in 180 gr., both at 3.218" COAL. For either bullet with H4350 it lists 50.0 grains as the starting load at a velocity of 2524 fps, and maximum load of 55.0 grains at 2727 fps, at 101% loading density. 24" barrel.

Thanks for the info! I looked some more on Barnes website and they recommend loading the tipped TSX using the same data as the TSX. Sounds like I should be good to go. Going to try it out at the range tomorrow. Thanks again.
