Does anyone have a pet load for the Barnes xpb .451 200gr bullet in there .45 acp. The longer bullet concerns me with the oal of the finished product. I load all of my 45's @ 1.2" oal, but to acheive this with the xpb drives the bullet a lot deeper in the case?
Thanks

I bought them in a bulk bag labeled Barnes 200gr .451. Figured I ought to do some homework, that makes since. Just wonder what kind of pressure spike that would create? No big deal, my brother loads 45lc's
Thanks

I don't know.
But Barnes says this about the 185 grain bullet.

*The Barnes #45185 185-grain XPB bullet has a slight taper on the base to prevent bulging case wall once the bullet is seated.

And thats seated 1.235" OAL.

Twas it me?
I'd let your brother shoot them in his .45 Colt.

Technically you can make them work in the acp, but you will be guessing at how much to reduce charge and then you should have a longer expander to go deeper ect.....Case bulging maybe an issue. After all that they most likely won't group good, but you never know. I still have a box of the plastic tipped Hornady's that I figured I could make work, but after lining them up with a case and seeing how deep they need to go, they are sitting here, maybe for a single shot or revolver you(and I) could get by with them nicely in the acp. I am hoping someday to run across a decently priced .45lc Ruger for a deer hunting gun.

BTW those Barnes would be an excellent deer bullet in a LC
