Basic AR-15 CourseThis class is designed to give the owner or enthusiast an introduction to their AR-15 style rifle. If you have recently bought or want to know more about your weapon, this will give you sound fundamentals in safety, operation and put you on target.

This is an 8 hour course.

The following topics that will be covered:

Safety Issues
History of the AR-15 Style Rifle
Ammunition considerations
Breakdown & Cleaning
Firing Techniques
How to Zero the Rifle (Live Fire)
This class is not intended to be a “Tactical Class”, all lessons and exercises are geared for the beginning and sport shooter. It is the responsibility of the student to bring the proper ammunition for live fire zeroing in of their rifle/optics (20 rounds min). All ammo must be approved by Range Staff prior to shooting. Ammo may be purchased at the range with prior arrangements with the instructional staff. (standard 55 gr. FMJ)

ADVANCED TACTICAL RIFLEPre-requisite: Introduction to the AR-15 / M-4 Rifle course – or firearms training course of equivalent level.
The following firearms training topics will be covered:
• Firearms training safety review.
• Principals of personal defense.
• Rapid deployment methodology and concepts.
• Mental conditioning and combat mindset.
• Enhanced tactical aptitude.
• Review fundamentals of shooting a rifle.
• The natural action stance.
• Methodology of shooting the rifle.
• Loading / unloading the patrol rifle.
• Review use of conventional and tactical sling systems.
• Combat gun-handling skills.
• Presentation from low ready, high ready and indoor ready.
• Refining presentation technique.
• Balancing speed and accuracy.
• Enhanced tactical speed shooting concepts.
• Reducing stimulus / response time.
• Moving off the line of force.
• Threat assessment and area scanning.
• Engaging threats while advancing and withdrawing.
• Engaging threats from static turns and pivots.
• Engaging multiple threats while negotiating obstacles.
• Dominating the weapon, threat and visual areas.
• Ammunition management and reloading techniques.
• Transition to secondary weapon system.
• Malfunction clearance drills.
• Multiple threat engagement strategies.
• Close Quarter Battle (CQB) techniques.
• Drugged assailant and body armor defeating drills.
• Use of the flash sight picture vs. perfect sight alignment.
• Front sight proximity shooting.
• Weapon retention issues.
• Deployment from vehicles.
• Man vs. man stress drill shoot-offs.
• Up / down drills.

This is a two day class, pre registration and prerequisites required. Course cost, $250. plus 500 rounds of rifle ammunition.
