Been doing some thinking about the term "assault weapon"

I mean I don't see anyone in any of the SHTF threads that says their go to gun is a ruger 10/22 or a Browning BAR deer rifle, or a Remington 7400.
My SHTF go-to gun is a Remington 7600 (pump-action) in .308, and a stack of 10 round mags. I bought it after relocating my Bushmaster out of California.

I've never had a problem with the term "weapon." I learned a gun is a weapon, an honorable term, from my earliest association with weapons. I don't care that the left mischaracterizes an honorable word.

But even you admit that's not by choice. I'm sure if you could still have your Bushmaster that would be your rifle of choice.
