Ben Stein on guns

Ben Stein, speach writer, game show host, and ad pitchman, is NOT an expert on everything.

Video won't play now, but I saw him last week grilling the talking head weenie from The Brady Bunch and the Chief of Police from Miami, and he did a great job of making a point of self defense and CWP. He was 100% behind CWP in "gun free zones" and was really playing hardball with the the other two guys.

That is odd the video won't play now. I wished I had seen the other interview... I wonder if either of these will pop on YouTube.

And I think everyone has ignored that you can do tremendous damage w/o a gun. People can always build bombs etc. Its easy to go on the offense against unsuspecting civilians. Yes, guns can be used for offense, but they can also be used for defense (its pretty hard to use a bomb for a civilian to defend themselves, so your just sliding the advantage to the attacker by taking away guns). I know I've said this before but I always like to use it as a good counter to people who want to take away guns.

Hmmm, interesting that his biography link on an earlier post says he is married?

A few years ago (~7) he was in the waiting room of my Doctors office. He made a complete fool of himself trying to pick up a 20 something drug rep.

If you aren't familar with drug reps they are usually very pretty young women and old Ben was trying to get her to agree to a weekend lunch on his Yacht in the Marina (Marina Del Rey, Los Angeles). What an old perv!

Every time the drug rep looked away she would roll her eyes and Ben would talk about how rich he was lol. Very sleazy.

"Name a mass shooting that occurred before 1968."

Actually, to be fair...
Charles Whitman, the Texas Tower mass murderer, did his killing in August 1966.

"And I think everyone has ignored that you can do tremendous damage w/o a gun."

Good point...when the news first reported the VA Tech incident, I thought it may have been a terrorist. There have been arrests of some people in rural Virginia on suspician of setting up terrorist training camps (sorry, no idea how those turned out).
Cho was insane...but he wasn't stupid even if his writing was deranged. That Engineering building could have been hit by a van loaded with ammonium nitate and diesel (Oklahoma City bomb materials).
