A few months ago I posted a thread about a Turk made 92 clone. ATI AT-92. This pistol is actually a MKEK Girsan Yavuz 16. From what I can tell it is 100% parts interchangable with Beretta 92 series.

If you like Beretta, this is a wonderful pistol for $300. Really a great buy. I never see any thing posted or any real news about this pistol.

My question...Does anyone really know the origin of this handgun? Is it reversed engineered? Or is it made on what was once Beretta machinary and designs that were transfered to Turkey?

There are a few different military orginizations worldwide (including the Turks) that carry this as a sidearm.

Does anyone besides myself (on this forum) own this pistol, and if you know...what are the exact origins of this very fine Turkish pistol? If the gun said "Beretta" on the slide, you would never know the difference.

I had one for quite a while, was a very good gun and only got rid of it because my interests shifted.

I've heard some weird rumours about their origin on the internets, but I think it's just a simple reverse engineered clone. The company makes several other firearms based off the same action.

Girsan makes some rather unique looking firearms, shame ATI only imported the plain 92 clones. I'd buy one of the spacey looking Tugra or Bora models in a heartbeat.

I too had the ATI C92 clone. It is the EXACT copy of the Beretta. I really enjoyed but sold it because it was a "clone". I traded it for a CZ 75.

The company lost the right to import anymore - be aware of that. CDNN had bought the remaining stock and sold them cheap. So, there will be no more coming other than whats already on store shelves.

I have seen the prices rise on these things around here enough that I would probably just spend the extra few bucks to buy a used 92F

yeah the separation in price between them is a tank or two of fuel and/or a sack or two of groceries now-a-days...

Id rather have the one that had 20 failures between 5 guns after 275,000 rounds. (Army trials almost 30yrs ago).

It takes about 65 bucks to fill my car so $130.00 might be a bit of a difference!

It would seem to me that if you are talking NIB, then the price difference would be about $200-$250 or a little more. If NIB Turk compared to used Beretta in G-VG condition, then $120-$150 would sound about right.

When I bought my "Turk" it came with 2 bore brushes, an oil bottle, one 15 round Beretta magazine (also got a 20 round Mec-Gar), and the obligatory ATI cardboard box (though it has held up reasonably well).

I would love to own the Beretta 92fs. However, especially for the price and the extras I recieved, I am very happy with this Turkish made pistol.

According to "Girsan's" website, this pistol is carried by the Turkish military (NATO), Malaysian Special Forces and National Police, Colombian Air Force security services, and the Syrian military. I do not know if this is true or not, just reporting what their website stated.

There are only a few of these pistols remaining at this time in the United Staes. Parts should not be a problem as they are 100% parts interchangable.

Seem to be a great buy at $299

Where can I get one of these $300 92fs knock offs? I like the MC line as well.

The last time I spoke with Steve at CDNN they still had a few of the 4.33" Centurions left.

So anyway, in answer to your question, CDNN Investments.

whereas I would love to fill up my truck for under 130 bucks... :)

I bought the ATI C92 on impulse.
I liked it so well I bought a second one, then a third.

A friend bought two.

Another friend bought two.

The friend's brother bought one.

A lady I'm teaching to shoot bought one after shooting mine.

A man and wife stopped by my range to try out my ATI. They bought one for the wife.

I have some nice Berettas. I like my Berettas. The ATI is every bit the gun the Beretta is.

I had one of these on the "wish list" for a long time but never dropped the hammer on it. Kinda regret it now, but I just never seemed to have the money open and nothing else more important. I'll probably end up just getting a used Beretta eventually, but they certainly look like they were a good deal for a time there.

I take it then that magazines for the Beretta 92 fit and work in them?
Yes but I find that the some of the mil surplus mag's followers are a hair different shaped and won't lock the slide back after the last shot.

Of the four C92's I've seen in action there hasn't been a malfunction.

My two 15 round Beretta magazines and my 20 round Mec-Gar will lock the slide back after the last round is fired. My 33 round Beretta magazine, while functioning flawlessly otherwise, will not lock the slide back.

By the way, the 20 round Mec-Gar looks really good in this pistol, and for those with slightly larger hands adds just enoungh length to the grip.
