Beretta M9 .22lr

Late last year I bought a Beretta M9 and I've really grown to like it. For some reason when it first came out I just didn't have any love for it because I carried a 1911 in the Army and the Beretta felt like interloper. I recently saw a M9 in .22lr in the LGS and I was surprised at how much it looked and felt like it's big brother. Curious if anyone has one and your impressions of it.
