Any suggestions on recoil springs for my Beretta 96G Elite II (40S&W)?

Ejected brass is consistently hitting me in the head and I think the spring is weak from how easy it is to rack the slide. The action feels a little strange (sluggish) like my CZ97B did before I replaced its recoil spring. I'm guessing the feeling is from the slide moving forward slower than it should?

I bought the gun used but the seller said that he bought it new and it hadn't been fired much. It supposedly comes with a factory spring rated at 13lbs. I've haven't heard anyone else state they were having the same problem so I doubt they are come from the factory undersprung? *shrugs*

Anyway I was looking at the Wolff site and they have several different springs, does anyone one have any recommendations/experience on which one would work best?

Thanks!

I don't know about Wolf but here's Ernest Langdon's number. Give him a call and tell him waddup. If possible, I like to stick to either factory, or Ernest's stuff, but that's just me.

He has springs and stuff. Beretta Parts & Services could probably help, too.

You might try Wolffs "recoil spring calibration pack".

I want my Beretta to have the strongest recoil spring while staying reliable. The 20 and 18lb springs would occasionally cause a jam so I dropped to the 16lb and everything seems fine.

I bought my Italian 92fs inox used too. First thing I did was replace all the springs w/ Wolf Springs. Gun has been absolutley flawless!
As for which springs would work best, it would depend on what type ammo you shoot. Competition/ range ammo, stick w/ a stock spring. Mostly +P, go heavier.
Good luck!
