Read Posting #17 for Relevance

For some unknown reason, this thread has taken a negative turn, and misinterpretations have occurred.

I do not pretend to be an expert in eastern European history or geography, but there is some misinformation out there. How that got into a THR thread about "guns" is a mystery to me.

It seems that some of us may have had a bad day today, or other unpleasant things are happening in our lives, and for that, I'm sorry. Believe me, I've got difficulties going on too, but don't we all ?

Could we all "chill" and relax, and have a friendly discussion about guns ?
I think we'll all enjoy THR much better .

Do you ?:)

Why? Unless one cares about the extra 50fps the 9x18 & 9x17 are basically cartridges of equivalent performance and cartridge selection for the Browning short 9 is far, far better.
Actually, if one carries Buffalo Bore in 380, its FASTER than Mak ammo at its hottest. However, most won't shoot anything that hot out of their pocket pistols.

I wouldn't carry either cartridge unless they're FMJs, in which case, yes, 50fps makes a difference to me. One fps or one ft/lb makes a difference to me in an HD/SD round. Since ballistics of either is marginal, I choose FMJs for penetration, in which case I get a little more from 9x18 for alot cheaper. which in a gun as robust as the CZ82 (which I'll add that BB recommends this pistol for their +p rounds, not sure if the same could be said for a Bersa) that I paid $150 for in near unused condition means I'm not in for a huge investment. Plus, I actually trust it without question with steel cased ammunition. So, in summation, a tank of a gun that is dirt cheap to buy, with ammo that I can buy that fills the SD and range roll for cheaper that has a small (but still positive) margin of power over a comparable round chambered in .380 ACP. Bullet selection in .380 means little or nothing to me because it's not cheap to practice with, I personally wouldn't carry HPs in that chamber (but that's me), and don't own anything chambered in it currently. I try to jump back on that 380 bandwagon, but I usually can justify the extra weight, recoil, or overall bulk of carrying a pocket gun in 9x19, which is a HUGE leap. But, there are days I grab the lil CZ, with its heft, good trigger, and reliability loaded with rounds I trust to penetrate regardless of its small margin of superior performance. I'm a "win by an inch or a mile, winning is still winning" sorta guy. Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades.

YMMV
