I've got a Ruger Mark III heading in, and its drilled and tapped for a scope, so I'd like to try mounting a scope to it. I'm not interested in a red dot scope, and most of my shooting would be at 25 yards or less - although I occasionally have access to a range with a 100 yard target distance. I know everyone says I should avoid a cheap scope but I don't want to spend more than $150, so what would your recommendations be?

I had seen Swift, but I didn't know if they were quality scopes. I had not seen too many reviews for them so I initally didn't think they were worth looking into but I have to say after looking at the reviews, they look pretty good. I've been leaning towards a simple 2x20mm pistol scope, because from what I understand lower magnification can be desirable when using a pistol. I think 4x would introduce too much wobble.
