Best Blue for Silver Solder?

So,I hot blued a set of Savage/Stevens 311 barrels Saturday. The Barrels came out nice except for the solder joints. I have blued several 511 and 311doubles before and had very slim lines of solder to show but never have I seen such a sloppy factory job. What is the best blue for silver solder? I've used solder black by Birchwood Casey with some success but never on a job this large! Any suggestions?

I haven't used it myself, but Brownells gunsmith kinks vol 1 says that Aloxo-Black does a good job. Jim

Never used it, but it most likely works pretty well or Brownell's wouldn't put their name on it.

You might call thier Gun-Tech hotline and ask about it & Stevens 311 barrels.
