Title says it all. I am looking for the best bullet weight for my new 300 blk 8.5" barrel with 1:7 twist. Looking to only shoot supersonic unfortunately because I cant own a suppressor in IL.
I literally just stumbled upon the TNT's on sale https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2149663126. I may try them based on the price I don't think I can go wrong. I will be using them mostly for target shooting maybe some varmint down the road. What are you looking to do?
If looking for a hunting load I would recommend sticking with the 110g monolithic options or up to 125g but not above.
For target shooting I’ve found the 150g bullets seem to come cheaper than others when buying ammo, but aren’t very good as far as terminal ballistics. If reloading then the 125g tnt bullets are pretty cost efficient and shoot great in my 10.5”.

Thanks
Defensive use, I load Nosler 110 Varmegeddon"s, which react although varmint bullets differently at .300 AAC MVs. In my 9" Faxon Barrel I get 2170 FPS:
