Hello Folks. I am in need of a synthetic stock for an Enfield rifle (No1 MkIII) due to the fact that the issue stock has cracked. It is a darn shame too, it is the prettiest piece of wood on any Enfield I've seen thus far. I will probably repair it one day when I get the chance.

Anyway, I need to find a synthetic stock for the gun because I like shooting the thing. The only thing is, I have seen some shady looking synthetic stocks out there. I want a good one.

Sooooo, who among you can steer me in the right direction? I will be very thankful to those of you that can give me any information.

Thanks,
Skofnung

Advanced Technology has one that will work. I've never actually seen one of thier Enfield stocks, but I have seen/used their AK, SKS, Mossberg and Mauser Stocks and they all seemed nice and worked well. You can buy directly from them or from their distributors:

Cheaper Than Dirt

Cabela's

Centerfire Systems

J&G Sales

Out of all of those, J&G Sales has the lowest price.

Ramline also makes a synthetic stock for your No.1 Mk.III, but are somewhat difficult to find. The only one I could find was at Hoosier Gun Works. It is in the Ramline Stocks, listed in the 'carbine' section about 3/4 down the page. I have done business with Hoosier Gun Works before and was very pleased with their service.

If you so desire, or if you can't get the original stock repaired, Numrich has replacement stocks available. Link: Numrich SMLE parts

Good Luck!

Thanks Spin180, I appreciate the help.

nemesis, I know, I'm a bad boy  but I gotta do what I gotta do. :D

Thanks again

The forestock on my SMLE cracked and I ordered a synthetic set from numrich. After I put it on it looked sickly and wrong. It told myself I could live with it. Then I fired it. The reduced weight gave it a slight muzzle lift and kick that SMLE's just shouldn't have. I went home and immediately did right by my rifle, and ordered a wood forestock.
After a couple of coats of oil the new forestock matches the old wood very well. The color and grain match almost perfectly, the old wood is dinged up a bit, so that is the way to tell what is what.

Do right by your rifle!

I wish somebody would make the complete stock set out of synthetic, you know, all four pieces like an original.

I would buy some...

Mike
