Picked up a S&W 25-5 the other day.

Those old N frame grips sure are big for a guy with small hands (I wear a small-size 8-glove).

How do you tell if a grip is too large for you...or too small, for that matter?

Any suggestions on grips I should try?

Does anyone make wooden grips for the N frame that are slimmed down?

Thanks...and happy holidays to all!

Dick

Hi Dick.

I like the large factory N frame grips but because I have quite large hands. I have noticed tho that Hogues and Pachmayrs do seem to lose me some of the ''meat'' and so in a sense are a shade smaller.

Somewhere I seem to recall seeing some pretty Cocobolo grips on an N frame tho not sure if round or square butt - I am sure they exist - and hopefully someone will have some specific info.

I never liked the feel of the N frame Smith untill the Hogue Monogrip came along. Now I put them on all my K and N frame Smiths. Hogue also makes some beautiful wood grips.

The old "Magna" stocks should serve you quite well... if you are fortunate enough to find them!

These worked, but the K's fit me better than the N's. I used to put my little finger under the grip when I would shoot. Now I use the Hogues.

Get stocks to fit your hand instead of someone's idea of an average hand: http://www.herrett-stocks.com

If all else fails, custom fit Herrett grips are hard to beat. Been around forever and still one of the best grip companys out there!
