I'll suggest Duluth Trading Company's Flex Fire Hose cargo pants. Most comfortable! Deep pockets going deeper below the cargo pockets.

I think that since yoga pants were introduced we now have companies making comfortable "Girly Man" pants.

Wait until Duluth Trading has a sale. 30% off around Christmas time. 20% of at other times . Sign up to their e-mail for alerts.

Do not know if they are Pro 2A or not..........

On a side note, I still have levis in my dresser that have not been worn for a long time. Expensive shop towels?

Any idea how the sizes run - big, small?

I’m usually a pretty standard 34/30, but I tried on some Redhead jeans at Bass Pro Shop today and I could barely get them over my hips!!

not for "big" folks, just not long daisy dukes is what I mean. skinny jeans are hard for me to pull over my legs and they hurt my junk when I sit. plus I don't like how low they ride, like 1968 hippy chic jeans or something. I tried on a few pairs about a year ago and just couldn't do it comfortably.

Seriously, dude, a good farm store will have a great selection of jeans: store brand, Wrangler, Lee and Ariat, for instance, and in about any cut you want.
Also, oddly enough, Academy ... at least the one near me ... carries a heck of a lot of jeans.

The Duluth fire hose work pants pockets are plenty big and deep enough for pocket carry. I wear them for work. The 5 pair I have all shrunk in length over time and many washings, so favor a longer size if you are in between. Waist sizing ran true for me. They last forever.

Also I hate the one pair of the "flex" fire hose pants I bought to try and seldom wear them.

If you are near or pass a store in your travels stop and try them on.

Thanks for all the input so far. I went shopping today to see what I could find.

- LL Bean didn’t “Wow!” me...pockets weren’t that deep, and even at the Outlet they were $42.
- I already have Wranglers and the Levis were pretty much the same.
- Carhart pockets didn’t impress me.
- Couldn’t find any Lee jeans or Ariats
- Nearest Duluth store is 2 hours away...trip for another day.

While I was at Tractor Supply (looking for Ariats), I ran across Blue Mountain jeans and cargo pants. Nice, loose fit and deep pockets — and $12 a pair!

Sizes run a bit small - I had to get them two sizes bigger than normal (And, no — it’s not just me!) But I figured for the price it was worth taking a chance!

First of all, you can extend any pocket pretty easily. Just cut off the bottom and sew a larger pocket onto it. Form the pocket extension by folding fabric and sewing across one end and up the open side. Flip it inside out or outside in according to your preference. There are lots of videos on this if you need visuals. With a long enough pocket, you can pocket-carry a Tac13.

As for denim, I suggest Pointer Brand (LC King) or Roundhouse.
