I'm in the process of replacing the Contender I've sorely regretted selling since 1985. I've got a frame and an old Herrett's grip stock that I'm refinishing, but no barrels, forends, mounts, scopes, et cetera. I'm planning to start with .22 long rifle, but doubtless will want to add others.

I found Ed's Contenders, and sent an E-mail message, but received no reply. Ideas, anyone?

Thanks, eh?

Contender Barrels

You might try ebay for used barrels. I've also had good luck on Gunbroker and Auction Arms. Ed is a little hard to catch, but his service is well worth the effort. Might I say, GBs has a classified section just for T/C products. Then there's any number of custom shops now. Good luck in your search.

I've bought several barrels from Ed in the past few months. He's kinda hard to get hold of, but it's well worth it. Usually works better to call him.

It's well worth the effort to get in touch with Ed.

He may or may not answer e-mail. In my experience the phone is the best way to reach him. I estimate I get him about once for every two attempts.

His prices for new barrels are less than some used barrels I've seen on eBay. He ships stuff out within a day.

In addition to barrels, Ed also has accessories for T/C products, dies, and brass.

He's my preferred vendor of T/C stuff.
