Hey all - I've decided that since I can only hunt with one rifle at a time, I'll buy a good Harris bipod and QD it to three different rifles:

Savage .22 bolt with a sling swivel to mount to
.223 AR with an M-LOK foreend, and
.308 AR also with M-LOK

Anybody know the best way to QD to all three? I'm thinking maybe a picatinny adapter on each rifle, then some sort of picatinny QD mount for the bipod?

Many thanks for your wisdom!

You can get a sling swivel stud for mlok, (x2) and that will be cheapest. Not terrible to attach/detach

or you can spend a lot of pic rails and a pic rail adapter for the Harris
($80 from the Harris folks)

There’s a slick M-lok QD adapter from Kinetic which I have used, push button at both ends, holds strong. Would just need an Mlok rail section on your Savage, in that case.

Another option would be an Area419 Arcalock rail on the rifles, or at least a cheap Chinese ARCA plate, plus an Area419 Arcalock Harris adapter. This is what I use on most of my rifles now, converting more and more as I can.

Hey all - many thanks for these great replies. So seems like my best option here would be to go the Kinetic M-lok QD route as that would take care of all the QD-ing without needing three separate QD setups. Only trick now is I'm striking out finding a way to add an M-LOK rail section to my Savage Mark ii stock!!! M-LOK rail google results are all how to add a pic rail to an M-LOK foreend - any great ideas here??

Many thanks for all the great help!!

A Harris bipod isn’t that expensive. I wouldn’t spend much money trying to put a qd on a savage. Just use two bipod.

Yeah, after spending a full day looking for a way to put an M-LOK rail on a Savage I'm convinced it just doesn't exist. I manned up and just bought two bipods :) It will actually make life easier, and considering how much I've invested in hunting besides that, it's not that big a deal. And I can still QD between my two M-LOK rifles with ease. Thanks for the help, all!

Area419 12” M-lok ARCA rail is one way. The center row of slots are m-lot slots.

For the money, two bipods is easy enough. And frankly, it’s better to shoot with a friend anyway, so having 2 is a distinct advantage.

Sure thing - that ARCA system does look pretty neat, but the bipod is only 7 bucks more - so why not go for the versatility. Makes a great deal of sense though if you were doing that for all your rifles across the board! Nice setup.

I have a Tikka M695 with a swivel stud and an AR-10 that I got a low profile bipod adapter from Odin Works. Switching the bipod is a piece of cake.

FWIW, if you decide to try to share a bipod among rifles again, here's what I did...

Harris S-LM Bipod

ADM Picatinny Bipod Mount Adaptor

That gets the bipod set up (I also added a pod lock lever, but you don't NEED that). From there, I put a small picatinny section on my M-Lok rail on my AR (and also a picatinny section for rail on the Choate stock on my Savage 10 FCP, although that's not immediately pertinent). Finally, to allow it to be used on my Weatherby Vanguard I added one of these:

Swivel to Picatinny Adaptor

It's cheap and I wouldn't use it on magnum calibers or anything, but its fine for the .223 it's used on. There are slightly nicer options available though looks-wise I think the one above doesn't mess with the traditional silhouette as much which I prefer. Here are a couple:

You could also just modify your stock and install a picatinny rail directly to it too.

To me, doing it this way is a win-win. I don't have to deal with having a bipod (or having to take it off) on the rifle when I want to shoot off hand, but I can quickly toss it on there on any of them if I want to. And, I didn't have to justify spending $300-400 on bipods to the wife. :D I'd have an adapter for my Savage Mark II as well, but for the moment I have a Caldwell XLA bipod on that full time since I never really shoot it off hand but I am toying with tossing a picatinny adapter on it just to have the flexibility.

Here are pics, the AR doesn't have it mounted but you can see the pic rail section for reference.

Well for one, that one is almost twice the price of most Harris's. I like the Atlas design myself, but no way can I justify the price of one for my uses.

Bipods in approximate order of awesome (and price) this is not an all inclusive list
Elite iron $550
MDT ckyepod-pod $500
Thunderbeast bipod$500
Atlas psr $300
Atlas cal $200
Harris $100

Prices are 2 glasses of scotch deep guesstimate
the list stops here because everything else is made in China a buying that lines our enemies pockets while providing us with an inferior product
