Between detail strip's of a GLOCK, hows about spraying it out with synthetic Gun Scrubber in all the tight to reach places?

Seems like a good idea.

Opinions please.

That's all I ever do, never needed to detail strip any Glocks. Been owning Glocks since the mid/late 1980s.

I also use brake cleaner (non chlorine) from the auto store for 1/5 the cost of Gunscrubber. They both do the same thing, remove carbon build-up and degreases everything.

You will get some residue on the plastic, just wipe it down with a silicon cloth.

Glocks are easy.

My problem was a dirty firing pin channel , so i had to detail strip the slide and spray it out.

HOW would / do you clean the FP channel WITHOUT stripping it?

The only thing to keep in mind is the collection of gunk that may result in the trigger/ connector mechanism. Other than that- go for it. I will add that a detail strip and cleaning of a GLOCK takes less than 10 minutes with practice.

The slide is the easiest part to detail strip, so keep doing what you're doing with the firing pin channel.

But after you spray and wipe it down, make sure you use a blow gun to remove excess fluid and dirt.

I don't know why you'd bother with some kind of spray that will just leak out all over. It only takes a minute or two to completely detail strip a Glock.

Actually, why bother cleaning it at all?

I dunno, just used brake cleaner and sprayed my Glocks (and my other guns). I just let the junk flow out by itself and never had any malfs.

Won't brake cleaner(maybe it was bike cleaner) completely destroy polymer weapons?

Jimbo, welcome to THR. I hope that your membership here will help to separate falsehoods from realities.

Please note where I purposely noted that I've been doing this to Glocks since the 1980's. Only other remark was how to remove the residue from the plastic.

Gunscrubber is brake cleaner. Notice how I even explained what they both do?

Remember that Polymer comes in different formulations. The ones used for firearms are designed for war. Ever been in a war zone and seen what kinds of solvents, fuels and other caustic crap is around? No, polymer weapons won't melt because a product made to clean car parts gets on it.
