Check out this pack of lies and misreprentation in our local paper. This paper is regularly anti-gun and takes the liberal position on everything.

I decided to correct some of the facts presented and my letter to the editor was published today.
--My letter is in response to Pat Bagley's cartoon April 19 depicting a handgun with several "facts" surrounding it. It is apparent that Mr. Bagley simply went to Bradycampaign.org and copied several statistics from its "facts" section, word for word.
The sad truth regarding the statistics he quoted is they are nothing more than the result of subjective studies that were conducted to achieve a desired result. To address one of his "facts" specifically, the statistic regarding a gun being 22 times more likely to be used in a suicide, homicide or accident comes from a study conducted by Arthur Kellerman. This study excluded cases in which burglars or intruders were wounded or frightened away by the use or display of a firearm.
This is the usual result when a gun is used for self-defense. In addition this study included a total of two non-random cities, hardly a large sampling.
In the future I hope Mr. Bagley will at least substantiate his myths before passing them off as "facts."
THR Members let's all keep pushing to educate the masses regarding the truths regarding the use of guns.
